Nebraska Spring Snow Goose Hunts

Towards the end of March and into April we move locations up into South Dakota and remain there until the majority of the snow geese have moved up into North Dakota and on into Canada. Our season usually wraps up towards the mid to end of April each spring.

**If the birds have moved out of Nebraska we will move you to the next location the birds are currently located in

A Typical Day

In Nebraska we hunt over both fields and water and hunt out of pit blinds and not lay out blinds. Our pit blinds are heated with coffee and breakfast every morning. We are located in between the infamous Squaw Creek NWR in Missouri and the warm water basin in SE Nebraska as stated above. On your hunt, you can expect to hunt over 700 Avery floater snow goose decoys and 500 to 600 real feet decoy full body snow goose decoys. We also use the top of the line Foxpro electronic callers. THERE IS NO REASON TO LAY IN THE MUD! COME HUNT IN OUR PITS AND ENJOY YOUR HUNT.

Lodging And Meals

Lodging

We have arranged several very comfortable and economical options for our hunters during their stay with Black Goose Outfitters. For lodging we have two options. The first and most popular option is our house lodging. We have a very modernized house with all of the comforts of home located within a few miles of the areas we will be hunting for our hunters to stay at. The house can sleep up to 10 hunters comfortably. The second option is a simple stay at a local, clean and comfortable area motel.

Meals

At the house you will have access to kitchen facilities as well as a an outdoor grill. We recommend our hunters bring their own food to cook and grill as needed. However you always have the option of a local restaurant for a nice dinner after the hunt or to avoid having to bring your own food, or if you are staying at the local motel.

Lodging Pricing

We have priced our lodging at the house to meet our hunter’s budget and needs. We simply charge a flat rate of $350 per night, per group. We feel this is the best deal going. However if you choose a local motel we can recommend several options for you at the time of booking.

Our Spring Snow Goose Hunting Operation

The main operation for our guided spring snow goose hunts take place on the border of Missouri and Nebraska during February and March. We have leased several key properties that have stock ponds for us to set up big water spreads, in addition to our field set ups.

This allows us the opportunity to hunt all day as we are very successful in harvesting migrating snow geese moving back and forth between Squaw Creek NWR and the Rainwater Basin of SE Nebraska. Our customer also like to opportunity of hunting snow geese over water in addition to the traditional field style hunting that can also be fast and furious!
